Fun Fact 1

Luca is the middle child. He has a younger sister, Elisa, and an older sister, Sara. Sometimes they are happy with each other, but sometimes they aren't. Sara also has her own NFT collection called "Classy Teens," which she draws herself. You can find her collection on OpenSea.

Fun Fact 2

Luca has partly Southern Italian ancestry; from his mother's side, his ancestors came from the Southern Italian town of Naples and the countryside of Calabria. The white outfit with the black mask represents Pulcinella, a historic symbolic figure of the city of Naples. His mother grew up speaking Italian and Dutch, and she has a special Italian nickname for Luca: "Lucanino" or "Cicciolino" are among her favorite names to call him. Luca's name is Italian for Luke, while his father is called Lucas (we actually say Luc), which is the Dutch version of Luke.

Luca was born in the Netherlands. He has Dutch nationality.

Luca has red hair. He was even more red when he was born, but over time he became more orange / blond. He also has some freckles on his nose. His mother also has red hair and freckles.

Luca was born in Capelle aan den IJssel, a small Dutch town near the city of Rotterdam. The town's official flag features two white fish on a blue background. Luca's arrival in Capelle aan den IJssel was unexpected; originally intended to be born in Rotterdam, Luca's mother was sent to a hospital in Capelle aan den IJssel due to concerns about amniotic fluid levels. A midwife at the hospital observed the low levels of amniotic fluid and decided to induce labor. Despite the unexpected circumstances, Capelle aan den IJssel held a familial significance for Luca's family, as Luca's mother had spent her formative years there, completing both primary and secondary education in the town.

For the first five years of his life, Luca lived in downtown Rotterdam, the second-largest city in the Netherlands, renowned for its stunning modern skyline. The city's historic inner core was entirely obliterated during World War II and subsequently reconstructed with contemporary architecture. While Luca's sisters and parents were all born in Rotterdam, Luca himself was the only one born in another city, a coincidence that sets him apart.

Luca moved with his family 8000 km away to a tiny island in the Caribbean called CuraƧao when he was five years old, where flamingos, iguanas, and parakeets are common.

The Handelskade, part of downtown Willemstad, the island's capital, features beautiful colorful buildings in Dutch colonial style, which are part of UNESCO heritage, while the Christoffelpark, Curacao's biggest natural park with beautiful flora and fauna, including the Christoffelberg, the highest point of CuraƧao, is a favorite destination for Luca's family.

The official languages of CuraƧao are Papiamentu, spoken by the majority, and Dutch, with Spanish and English also widely spoken on the island, which is part of the ABC islandsā€”Aruba, Bonaire, and CuraƧaoā€”neighboring leeward islands situated off the coast of Venezuela and formerly part of the Dutch Antilles along with the windward islands of Sint Maarten, Sint Eustasius, and Saba, which dissolved as a country in 2010.

Luca has been diagnosed with ADHD, which appears to be a family trait, as his mother and older sister have also been diagnosed with ADHD.

Luca just loves to collect PokƩmon cards.

Luca doesn't really enjoy reading books, but he does love to read comic books! One of his favorites is Donald Duck. He also enjoys creating his own comics.

He spends most of his spare time playing games like Roblox and Minecraft on his tablet.

Luca's room is actually messy most of the time. The furniture in the illustration matches his real-life furniture. Additionally, when he sleeps, he enjoys cuddling with a large stuffed-animal shark on his bed.

Luca likes to wear hats and caps in real life. He actually used to own a green dinosaur hat until he lost it one day.

His mom sewed a superhero outfit which he used to wear almost daily, until it was completely worn out.

Luca likes to play chess, and he is actually quite good at it. He has chess lessons once a week. However, he refuses to participate in chess competitions.

Luca has recently been watching the Harry Potter series on TV.

Luca has had a secret crush for 2 years on a girl from his class. Sometimes he admits it, while other times they're just friends, according to him. We're not sure what's the deal with that.

Luca loved the Eurovision 2022 act from Norway: Subwoolfer. He has made his own Subwoolfer mask out of cardboard and he just loves their song: ā€œGive that wolf a banana.ā€

Luca tries to avoid doing chores, feeling easily overwhelmed by the task. He'd rather relax.

Luca likes to listen to music. Some of his recent favorites in his playlist are "No Friends," "Muffin," "Stefania," and "Give That Wolf a Banana."

When he grows up he'd like to be an inventor.

Luca personally was involved in approving many of the final Looney Luca illustrations. He also shared his opinion when he felt some traits had to be improved, changed, or added.

Fun Fact 30

The character of Looney Luca was inspired by a pencil drawing made by Luca around 2021. He was quite consistent in drawing this character, and one day his mother decided to turn it into a digital illustration. And thus, Looney Luca was born.
