The official languages of Curaçao are Papiamentu, spoken by the majority, and Dutch, with Spanish and English also widely spoken on the island, which is part of the ABC islands—Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao—neighboring leeward islands situated off the coast of Venezuela and formerly part of the Dutch Antilles along with the windward islands of Sint Maarten, Sint Eustasius, and Saba, which dissolved as a country in 2010.
